Kit Carson County is a farming community that lies on the boarder with Kansas, in East Central Colorado. It produces the third largest harvest of crops in the state. I-70 runs through it and connects the plains to Denver and the mountains with a 2 hour drive. Kit Carson County provides a quiet loving community, were residents supports each other.
Burlington is the county seat, with over 3,000 residents, and is the center of trade and activity for the surrounding area. The town is home to the oldest operating carousel in America, brought from Elitch Gardens in 1928. For just a quarter you can ride one of an amazing variety of beautiful, hand-carved wooden animals to the tunes played on the original Wurlitzer organ. You can also take a wagon ride to the Carousel from Old Town Museum. The Museum is a visit to the old west, with an old Church and a Country barn for barn dances.
