My husband, four children and I relocated to the Northeastern Colorado area in 2003 after I received my Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. I spent 5 years as a middle and high school counselor in Yuma and Wray. While working in the schools I realized that I was more interested in the therapeutic aspect of counseling and I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to pursue this by joining Centennial Mental Health Center in the Burlington office. During my time as a school counselor I introduced new programs such as conflict managers for the middle school and the Believe it or Not I Care or BIONIC Team at the high school. I also provided students with group and individual counseling around many issues such as divorce, grief and loss, friendship, conflict management, self esteem, peer and family relationships, dating, anxiety, depression, drug and alcohol use, college and career planning, and many other topics. In addition to my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science Degrees I am also currently a Colorado Department of Education Professionally Licensed School Counselor. |
