CHILD MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT ACT

Main Provisions

Access to residential treatment for children with significant mental health needs without requiring a dependency and neglect action.

Equal access to residential treatment for non-Medicaid eligible children.

Eligibility

Both Medicaid and non-Medicaid eligible children
Child must have a mental illness
Child must require Residential Treatment Center (RTC) level of care
If child is on probation, reason for placement must be due to Mental Health
