Reports to: Finance Director Type: Non-Exempt Position Summary: Performs a variety of duties in accordance with standard accounting procedures, under minimal supervision and guidance. Checks and verifies data for completeness and accuracy. Work is subject to audit and verification. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. 2. Prepares reports summarizing Center's business activities and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings. 3. Completes bank reconciliations. 4. Maintains fixed asset records. 5. Prepares corporate tax returns. 6. Prepares audit schedules. 7. Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies. 8. Assists in preparation of annual budget. 9. Reconciles all accounts to the general ledger. 10. Maintains and follows written procedures and updates procedures as necessary for each task or responsibility. All procedural changes are approved at a higher level. 11. Performs other job duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university in accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Minimum of two years current experience in accounting and/or full charge bookkeeping. Abilities, Knowledge, Skills: General knowledge of accounting theories and practices. Excellent computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processing. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to prepare information using original or innovative techniques or style. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. |
