Reports to: County Director

Type: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Provides services to individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse problems, such as alcohol or drug abuse. Provides direct and indirect support to designated staff and consumers under the supervision of a CAC III.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Co-facilitates Level I and Level II DUI education and therapy groups and adolescent intensive outpatient groups. 

2. Maintains accurate and timely clinical records consistent with Center standards.

3. Monitors antabuse and same-sex urinalysis collection. 

4. Prepares warning, non-compliance and other communications for consumers, courts and probation as needed.

5. Maintains supplies in antabuse closet. 

6. Serves on emergency rotation schedule to provide 24-hour on-call; responding to and providing services to emergent situations.

7. Participates in meetings, in-services and staffing and other sessions as required.

8. Performs other job duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified in the State of Colorado as a Certified Addictions Counselor Level I.

Abilities, Knowledge, Skills: Knowledge of methods of substance abuse treatment and intervention. Knowledge of community resources. Ability to serve wide range of consumers, including culturally diverse populations. Knowledge of cultural issues that may have a bearing on service provision. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy to include basic skills in e-mail communication and word processing. Ability to work on-call hours, which may be required. Ability to travel within the Center's service area or to other locations as needed.
